Meet the Neighbors

We have stray cats that grace us with their presence. We also have a cat whisperer that comes over to our place every day around 5 and feeds tuna to about 6 cats. His name is Jim and he lives a few blocks away but comes each day to feed them, and they indeed await his arrival. He did mention that he is going to catch a few of them and have them fixed, so as to follow Bob Barker's advice and help control the pet population. I can't remember what he named this one. She is, however the first to greet him when he comes and hangs outside our place by the garden quite a bit.

This is Jethro. He wont go near humans, even Jim. He has to place his food underneath a car for him to eat it. Oh kitty kitty

All I can say is that these guys out number the cats by far. They all get along well together, especially at night for the feast. Im warming to them, but would prefer for them to remain on the river banks where I see them during the day. What should I name this guy? He doesn't seem to be shy at all. As soon as I get over my fear of an attack, I will be more comfortable at night at our new place.

See, even raccoons blink at the flash

This is the extra bedroom, which is for the moment an office. Still figuring out what to do and how to accomodate a little one in a few months
Bedroom.. Excuse the messy bed- that is 9am church for you. Again, brick walls! Love em!
My number one complaint- I really would be just fine and happy if it wasnt for these &*$% floors! Linoleum(sp?)? Really ??? Our we in an institution? Am I at the hospital working? Okay, I'm done complaining. Im sure some lovely carpet remnants will do the trick

Living Room/Dining area

Jerry's favorite part is the brick walls.... Our furniture fits just great so Im happy about that- Our large kitchen table does too!

Jerry is also in love with the fake wooden paneling! We arent quite sure what to do with all of this stuff-- More to come..

Sparing no details

Here it is- our gigantic kitchen! In about another month I wont be able to turn all the way around! Jerry and I cant fit in there as it is-- the positive of it is the cupboard space. Even if they are only accessible by a ladder, they are there and I would be in big trouble without
The bathroom- not too bad. The shower head is a little low, like at about Jerry's chest! No outlets except one on the light fixture but doesnt fit a blow dryer... Not sure what to do about that yet.. The best part of it is its cleanliness and a cupboard behind the door that has really deep shelves and I'm able to store alot of stuff in there.

Town Lake

This is the view from our family room. See the water?!!
This is our garden and the view from our bedroom. Its actually a community garden but I love it. We were feeling pretty guilty today as we sat inside, watching TV, eating fattening food while our asian neighbors spent ALL day out there working.
This is our backyard. Pretty awesome if you ask me
This is the lake that runs through the town. They call it a lake but its more like a river. No motor boats or swimming allowed. I see people fishing and lots of swans haning out. The popular thing to do is row, canoe, etc. The best part is the trail that runs along the side of it. Its miles and miles long- and runs on both sides. Its VERY popular for running/biking/walking, you name it. A running company has water stops every few miles for everyone's use. We are so lucky to be this close to it and all of my coworkers and friends are jealous..

Here are the birds I discuss below. Doesnt the dirty one look like the male of the group? What are these?

Fresh off a sunday afternoon nap- dont I look glamorous! This trail is my favorite thing about where we live
I
This ones for you mom... Hi baby girl!
Does this swan have sun glasses on? It is sunny in Austin but the sun is almost down- maybe she'll take them off in a few....
Poor swans. They thought we were going to feed them. Now I will know to save the ends of the bread and make it a ritual

What are these and why does the top have a nob like that? They are pretty ugly (sorry) and super mean! They stay on the trail and guard it. There is one more that is really big, no nob and has a brownish colored neck. I think he is the male because he is always standing at a distance and these 3 are always squawking at him!
Two parks at our place! This one is down by the river and the other is just in front of our building within the complex. Yea!
Beautiful view from our house. These are houses on the other side of the river that are huge! One has a spotlight at night of the palm trees in the yard that have to be 100 feet high
